Given the recent developments of the global COVID-19 outbreak (serious health concerns, various bans on public gatherings and several travel restrictions in place globally) and the guidance issued by the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Ontario Health Authority, the CSEAR NA Conference was postponed from July 2020 until June 2021. We will update the website accordingly when new dates are confirmed. Please update your calendars to include the conference in June 2021, when we will look forward to having you join us in Toronto.
The Centre for Excellence in Responsible Business at the Schulich School of Business, York University is pleased to be hosting the 8th CSEAR North America Conference in June 2021.
The Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research (CSEAR) has held an annual congress in the UK (often and formerly referred to as the Summer School) for more than two decades, and other parts of the world in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and in both South and North Americas.
Similar to other CSEAR conferences, the 8th CSEAR North America Conference will be a deliberately informal gathering and discussion forum for researchers, teachers, students and practitioners concerned with social and environmental accounting, teaching and research in the very widest sense. Its emphasis is on a high level of interaction, discussion and debate in a friendly, supportive and relaxed atmosphere.
Attendees are likely to include academics, practitioners and doctoral students at all levels of experience, and involved with all aspects of social, environmental, indigenous and sustainability theory and practice in accounting and other disciplines. As such, interdisciplinary submissions are encouraged, and both full and research-in-progress papers are welcomed.
